Combit Inc. has been granted by tender financial support of more than HUF 154 million in the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan for the development of a mobile language teaching centre.

The total budget of the project, which joins three cooperating organizations, amounts to HUF 326 million, was released by the IT company to MTI (the Hungarian press agency) on Friday. The R+D project is being realized under the umbrella of Operative Programs for Economic Development, in the framework of supporting complex technological innovation of accredited cluster member companies.

The announcement by Combit Inc. points out: together with the University of Pannonia in Veszprém and LSI Information Technology Learning Centre, their partners in the project, their aim is to develop a mobile language teaching centre providing electronic multimedia teaching materials using web-based devices – including mobile (smart) phones, – thereby facilitating effective language learning and preparation for language exams. Adapting to individual needs of students, a server system will be built which stores various multimedia teaching materials – text documents, images, audio and video files, and the students’ personal performances – in its dedicated database.

The system will use these data to select further lessons and exercises for continuous advancement in learning of the language. Curricula will be compiled by language teachers who will assist students as professional instructors, will evaluate students’ answers to exercises and will provide students with direct support in the forms of message exchange through mobile phones or via the internet, real-time chat, one or bi-directional audio and/or video connections – the announcement states.
